I am always looking for contemporary devotional texts in honor of the Gods and Goddesses. I hadn't realized that there were any such books dedicated to Aphrodite, so I was very happy to find "Crown of Violets." This is a short book (only fifty-eight pages), but a lot of hard work, talent and passion went into its creation. I can imagine reading some of these poems at festivals, and some of the black-and-white artwork is quite lovely. I especially liked "Aphrodite Soteira" by Melia Suez and "Epitymbria" by Laurelei Black.I have only a couple of complaints. 1) There are a few noticeable typos in the text (such as "cypress" for "Cyprus"). And 2) the back cover blurb is a really bright shade of pink that clashes horribly with the gray-purple background; the text is nearly unreadable.
Those complaints aside, "Crown of Violets" is a good investment for anyone who wishes to honor Aphrodite.

This book, "Crown of Voilets" was a treasure of praises & reflections on the Goddess Aphrodite. The entries were heart-felt, and I could feel through the words the love & devotion for Aphrodite from the contributors of this book.
What a treasure to find this, today. Aphrodite is still loved by many. How Wonderfully Awesome!
